Our client recognised a gap in the market for a unique combination of high quality, innovative yet affordable children’s activities and services all in one location. Children’s Urban Centre has been emerging as a concept for nearly 5 years and has an established and supportive network of followers.
The unique combined venue concept with multi-purpose facilities means that children and parents will not only have access to a state-of-the-art new nursery provision, but also a sensory room, a messy playroom, a soft play room, theatre space, multi-purpose studio, after-school clubs, small retail units and hot-desking business facilities for parents.
The Directors have all lived and worked around the local area for over 15 years and have detailed local knowledge, a large contact base and a realistic view for their business plan. All that was needed was capital for starting up the first school and so they approached us seeking equity funding.
We could see that for an investor, the returns would be significant. By coming on board at this stage of a hugely franchisable concept, the growth of the initial investment could rise as the brand increases nationwide. Sites for further centres are already underway so that the growth can be recognised in the next 3-5 years.
We introduced our client to investors we knew could offer both financial support and advice down the line for their business. One investor was particularly excited at the concept for the school and offered to become an equity partner within a few weeks. We are happy to report that Children’s Urban Centre has celebrated the opening of its’ first school just last week.
