John qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young joining BYC in 2009 after a 20 year financial brokering career spanning the globe from the City of London, Isle of Man, Detroit, Bangkok, Beijing to Harare.John has completed many notable high-end turnarounds and various rescue financing. His achievements include 11th hour rescues of two historic UK manufacturers. He raised funds for the UK’s first water drilling manufacturer on the South Coast and one of the UK’s oldest lighting companies in the Midlands. Both of these transactions ran into £ millions, saved hundreds of jobs, enabled future business growth and high returns for investors.John has numerous other funding successes - his primary strength is his intuition for the interaction of the personalities involved in a deal. He travels anywhere in the UK providing his expertise to business owners at whatever stage of the funding cycle they are at.

With over 30 years corporate banking and advisory experience Sean has been working closely with SMEs and Corporates across the UK helping them to achieve long-term success. He has strong deal origination and execution experience across all industry sectors but particular success in financial services, technology, media, manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, recruitment, transport, retail, hospitality and leisure. Using the skills, experience and professional networks he has gained as corporate banking director, corporate finance director and capital raiser, Sean maintains a common-sense approach and can-do attitude to the funding needs of businesses providing simple solutions to complex problems. Being able to identify the right mix of equity and debt finance enables a tailored funding solution to be delivered, whether it be for growth, working capital, buy outs, acquisitions, property transactions and refinance. Sean is married with two daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and tennis, is a big West Ham fan and enthusiastic spectator of most other sports.

Liam Reilly

After achieving a first-class degree in Politics at the University of Greenwich, Liam went on to work in regulatory finance, working for organisations such as the FCA, the Financial Ombudsman Service and Deloitte. Following a career break, Liam then went on to work in the London prime property market, brokering deals for some of the capital's most elite residences. He now combines his vast experience in these industries and applies his network and knowledge to our clients. Liam has so far raised over £125,000 for charity - mostly whilst acting as a Trustee of his local youth and community organisation in East London, aged just 19. A keen sports fan, Liam is very sociable and likes to attend networking events across the capital to expand his network of investors. At the weekends you can usually find Liam spending his weekends watching or playing sports such as football, golf and rugby.

Daanish joined BYC in 2023 and has quickly established himself as a valuable member of the Corporate Finance team. Under the guidance of Nick and his team, he has developed a strong foundation in SME Corporate Finance. Since joining, Daanish has significantly expanded BYC's investor network, built strong client relationships, and is actively securing urgent funding and business sale mandates. He holds a master's degree in psychology from Queen Mary University and is driven by a passion to deliver meaningful value in the Corporate Finance space.

Rohan Kuller

Rohan has recently graduated from the University of Nottingham after studying BSc Economics. During his time at University, Rohan worked on the Nottingham Consultancy Challenge where he assisted the creation of a mobile app and website, aimed at helping beginner landlords navigate the complex property market. Since then, he is keen to gain more experience working with SMEs and assist the BYC team. Outside of work, he enjoys travelling, playing Badminton, cocktail making and attending live comedy shows.
Jemma Young

Jemma is the newest addition to BYC. She previously trained at Italia Conti Academy of Musical Theatre. After living in India for 6 months and pursuing her career as a Dancer; Jemma is now back in London and ready to use her creative skills within the business industry. She is highly talented both on the dance floor and on social media. After building her own social media platforms to 45k followers, with 18 million + views, she is going to help grow BYC into the brand we want to become. Away from work, Jemma enjoys spending time with her family, travel, and the next big dance event !

David has founded, run and sold multiple businesses over 25 years, after an initial career as a litigation lawyer.He has worked as an associate raising investment for business across many sectors, and is particularly interested in areas of software, data, artificial intelligence and sectors including financial services. Having just completed a 2 year project helping a large VC owned business increase data related services and market penetration, he is looking forward to helping SMEs grow and thrive, with the right investment and support.

Michael Morley-Smith

Trained as an accountant, Michael spent 10 years with a public company, finally in the position of Group Company Secretary. Since then he has run various small businesses and undertaken management consultancy assignments with a particular emphasis on turnaround finance and corporate recovery situations, gaining particular experience working with Insolvency Practitioners.Michael has intimate knowledge of small business practice as well as company insolvency rules. He is therefore able to understand the difficulties many entrepreneurs are faced with and expertly able to assist with company recovery.
