We are delighted to announce that we have secured £150k of seed equity investment for an early stage online careers matching service.
Our client developed a unique online careers platform, targeted at children aged 11-19. Students take a short, online assessment and are presented with the Top Ten Careers most suited to their personality, interests, aptitudes, skills and preferences.
The business had successfully pilot-tested in Academies and needed £150k funding to reach the school market.
Investment and Outcome
Given the current economic climate, early stage seed investments are difficult to secure. However, we felt that our client’s proposition was well placed to succeed, especially taking into account the success of the pilot studies.
We contacted our extensive network and gained serious interest from five individual investors and a small SEIS syndicate. We quickly arranged meetings and the pitch to the syndicate was successful. In fact terms were offered within a week and our client received the funds within ten days of the first meeting.
a note from the client…
We were steered to Beer & Young through great word of mouth and were lucky enough to meet with Gavin Heys and Rob Southwell who, although our market is tough, threw themselves into helping us out. We are now funded and cannot speak highly enough of B&Y. We don’t think of B&Y as our financial facilitators, we think of them as part of our team.
